Our Story
Bison Hall at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC), Alaska’s Most Unique Venue for Weddings, Corporate Events, and Intimate Gatherings. AWCC offers a peaceful and scenic setting for the ultimate Alaska experience where guests will be surrounded by stunning mountains, Alpine Glaciers, the Turnagain Arm Inlet, and Alaska’s beautiful wildlife. Bison Hall is a beautiful barn-like building with a high vaulted ceiling that showcases wood beams, a moose antler chandelier, and large windows that allow natural light to flow in. As we are a non-profit, all the proceeds from your event go straight back to helping Alaska’s wildlife! AWCC is located at mile 79 of the scenic Seward Highway, just 40-minutes south of Anchorage in Portage Valley.
The facility rental includes the use of the building for the entire day and admission into the center for all your guests!
If you rent Bison Hall then you can use the Point, with gazebo, for no extra charge for a maximum of 60 minutes. Where the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center meets the waters of Turnagain Arm, one of the most scenic places in Alaska unfolds – The Point. With wood bison and elk on one side and views of the water, mountains, and glaciers all around, AWCC offers a gazebo and boardwalk for family reunions and wedding couples to take breathtaking photos.
We also have wildlife presentation add-on, which is a 30-minute wildlife presentation with either a reindeer or a porcupine. It is a great way to get photos of you and your guests with the wildlife!
We encourage you to come by and do a free tour of Bison Hall (advanced reservation required), and peruse our Bison Hall website complete with a beautiful gallery of images, floor plan, caterers, and policies.
